A bad break

Like most football fans I have come to loathe the international break.Instead of getting our Tuesday night/Saturday afternoon fix of anticipation, aspiration and (usually) deflation we get a dull onesided kickabout with Premier League squad players... who is Harry Winks? Although nobody believes me, I enjoyed my team Leeds United’s stay in League 1 not least because there were no international breaks.

I’m sure Posh fans were gutted their team had no game last weekend. The reason being their opponents hadthree players selected for international duty and therefore had the option to call the game off. So because Charlton had one Northern Ireland player and, wait for it, two lads in the England u20 squad, when Saturday came Posh fans had to go shopping, or play with the kids!

The idiots who run football will never ruin the beautiful game, but my gosh , it won’t be for the want of trying.
