An arresting moment

I captured the moment several men were arrested on Cathedral Square in Peterborough in 1982.

One of the arresting officers was Frank Whiteley, who later became chief constable of Hertfordshire Constabulary and another was Richard Noble, a police sergeant.

Richard, who worked for the police for 30 years and is now retired said: “I didn’t realise Chris had taken the original photo. We must have been called to an incident and descended en masse.

“When we went back for the reunion photo a police car pulled up to see what we were doing and Chris got them to arrest me for a joke.”

Richard is now married with two children.
