PACKERS Canoe Club started over 20 years ago as an offshoot of the Peterborough Scouts and Guides Canoe Club. As the sport of kayaking and canoeing has grown, so has the club. PACKERS meets from late April to early September on a Wednesday, and is based in the Watersports Centre at Ferry Meadows, operating out of the sailing race hut from around 6.30pm. Currently it meets at Ramsey Leisure Centre on Fridays from around 6.45pm where members can hone their paddling skills, especially the Eskimo roll, in the swimming pool. More at www.packers.org.uk
