Panthers build their asset base

-

Panthers have completed the purchase of a host of new assets.

The city club’s stable of talent now includes British racers Chris Harris, Ben Barker and Adam Roynon.

Those riders are understood to have been bought from Coventry. New number one Scott Nicholls became a Panthers asset on the eve of the new season as part of the same deal, which also initially included Jason Garrity. He has subsequently been swapped with Scunthorpe – the team he races for this year – in exchange for Michael Palm Toft.

Panthers owner Ged Rathbone said: “We now have some of the top names in the league as Peterborough assets and that puts us in a great position. It was an excellent business opportunity and it means we now own five members of our team this season.”

Ulrich Ostergaard, Emil Grondal and Tom Bacon are also assets of the club, but Panthers have let Danny Phillips go. He has been transferred to Newcastle, where his father Martin is now a promoter.

Panthers are also working on deal to add five other riders – all foreign – to their asset base.
