Bourne brothers in good form

Local riders dominated a Fenland Clarion evening of youth racing at the Embankment. In the Under 8 age group brothers Monty and Hamish Wood from Bourne Wheelers claimed the first two spots, with Monty winning an impressive three out of four races, while Fenland’s Austin Richardson picked up his first race win in the handicap. Fenland’s Anna Blake completed the podium and claimed top spot for the girls. Evander Wishart (Fenland) was top Under 10 with three wins followed by William Wood and Harry Tozer with Mathilda Simpson leading the girls challenge just ahead of Katie Blake.

Oliver Stegeman claimed victory in the Under 12s. The second round of the two event series is on Friday, May 11 and is open to all youth cyclists up to 16 years of age.
