Daniels set up a tie with county cup holders
Stamford AFC have earned a crack at Lincs Senior Cup holders Gainsborough Trinity in the second round of this season’s competition.
The Daniels saw off Grantham Town 4-1 in a first round tie at the Zeeco Stadium on Monday night with goals from Jon Challinor, Taron Hare and two visiting players.
Stamford are back in action next Tuesday (July 17) against Corby in a home friendly.
Peterborough Premier Division champions Netherton United started their summer friendly programme with a 5-1 home win over top-flight newcomers Peterborough Polonia. Mark Baines and returning star Fraser Sturgess were among the scorers.
Oakham have returned to the Peterborough League for next season following their relegation from the United Counties League.
