MILLION POUND BID FAILS
Peterborough United made an unsuccessful million pound bid for a League Two striker.
Cheltenham’s Mo Eisa (right) was the target, but his club rejected the Posh offer as they expect to sell him to a Championship club later this month,
The bid might have failed, but it was still a massive statement of intent by Posh as they plot to win promotion from League One.
“We have tracked Mo for over a year,” Posh director of football Barry Fry said. “I was shocked when they turned the bid down, but they believe they will get more from a Championship club very soon.
“That’s the way it goes sometimes and we wil move on to other targets.
“Our manager wants a couple more new players before we go to Portugal on Sunday and I am trying hard to make it happen.
“You wouldn’t believe how many bids we’ve made for players that have been rejected. It’s been a crazy summer so far, but we’ve still managed to sign 12 and let 11 go.”
