Money problems at the cathedral

‘CASH FLOW CRISIS’

The first signs of financial difficulties at the cathedral came in July 2016 when a “cash flow crisis” was acknowledged. Financial experts were then brought in to look at the cathedral’s money problems during a Bishop’s Visitation - an inquiry into why the cathedral had got into financial difficulties.

The cathedral made 12 people redundant as it sought to improve its finances, and in early 2017 it hosted a BMW launch event in the Nave
