A man has been charged with dangerous driving after a stolen car crashed into parked vehicles in the early hours of the morning.

Liam Goldswain (23) of Fieldfare Drive, Stanground will appear in court next month following the collision on Thursday, November 15.

Officers were called at just before 5am to reports of a crash involving one car in Fletton Avenue.

A Seat Leon, which Cam- BEFORE bridgeshire police said had been stolen, left the road in the residential street and crashed into two walls, damaging two parked cars.

The Seat was almost completely destroyed in the collision, and left in the middle of the road. Fire and rescue crews had to cut Goldswain out of the car using specialist cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle.

Debris from the collision also damaged a window of a nearby home.

Goldswain and a teenage girl were arrested by police at the scene.

Both the girl and Goldswain were injured in the AFTER crash, with Goldswain suffering serious but not life threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital for treatment, and was kept in overnight, before he was charged with dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink or drugs, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession with intent to supply drugs (cannabis).

He has been recalled to prison and is due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, December 19.

Cambridgeshire police said the teenage girl who was arrested has been released with no further action to be taken against her.
