The Peterborough Evening Telegraph
Respect campaign has had no impact
Reaction to my latest columns...
You earn respect. Shaking a stranger’s hand before a game will not make you any more respectful. Taking ownership of your actions will. But we know we live in a ‘me’ society where, unless something fits your own ideology, people show little respect or regard.

Agreed re Respect campaign. Sadly, this initiative with all its good intent, mirrors much of the world today with people only paying lip service to the ideal. As you say, Alan, ‘a box ticked’ exercise.

Your article on the Respect campaign was sad, but true.
@BiddleGrant
I couldn’t agree more re the Respect campaign. There’s no decency left in football any more and the campaign was a farcical non-starter that’s not had any impact on the game at any level. @chris_day23
Jack Marriott is now scoring the sort of goals he didn’t score at Posh. He must be a very fast learner. @CulpableChimp
I sat and had tea with Peter Boizot a lot while waiting for a train. He was a good guy. RIP Peter Boizot. @Brano1979 (Ex-Posh Guy Branston).
Very sad news. Mr Boizot was the man who first saved Posh. A dyed-in-the wool Peterborian in every sense.

RIP Mr Boizot. Absolute gent who did wonderful things not just for Peterborough United but the whole city.
