Jazz quartet with soul to play only UK date in the city
Vincent Herring, one of the finest alto saxophonists in the history of jazz, visits Peterborough Jazz Club on Sunday.
He is bringing with him an all star band – the Soul Chemistry Quartet - for their only UK concert on their 2019 European tour at the city’s Broadway Suite.
For many years, Vincent, Mike LeDonne (piano), Essiet Essiet (double bass), and Joris Dudli (drums) have had a special chemistry when working together and have embarked on an extensive tour, having recently released the album Soul Chemistry which received four stars from Downbeat magazine.

Peterborough’s second big outdoor concert of the year was announced this week, with Tom Jones to perform at the ABAX Stadium on Thursday, July 11.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday) from 9am.
The global superstar’s distinctive voice and iconic records have earned him a place as one of the best loved artists to emerge from the 1960s with an eclectic musical mix spanning pop, rock, soul, R&B, dance, country and gospel.
He can also be seen as a judge on ITV’s The Voice on Saturday evenings. Musical virtuoso Jools Holland and his distinguished Rhythm&BluesOrchestra are to perform at Peterborough’s East of England Arena on October 26. Accompanying Jools will be the supremely talented Ruby Turner, with her breathtaking gospel, soul and rhythm & blues vocals, Louise Marshall, with her beautiful soul and jazz tones, as well as original Squeeze member and powerhouse Gilson Lavis on drums. Additional special guest will be BRIT Award winner Eddi Reader.
