Police officers in protective gear arrest four men in ‘rare’ find
Four men were arrested after a ‘rare’ crystal meth lab was uncovered at a Peterborough home.
Police wearing Chemical Bioglogical Radiological and Nuclear safety equipment carried out a series of raids on properties across the city on Monday.
The warrants were issued in Padholme Road, Alma Road, Westmoreland Gardens and Sheepwalk, Paston.
Along with chemical specialists, fire and ambulance crews were also on hand to assist officers as they searched the properties.
A police spokesman said the discovery of a crystal meth lab in the city was ‘rare.’
He said: “A small scale production of what is believed to be crystal meth was discovered. This is extremely rare in Cambridgeshire.”
Crystal Meth is a highly addictive man-made class A drug, which is made by mixing chemicals to form a white powder.
During the raids, four men were arrested by police in con- nection with the find.
One man aged 47 has been dealt with by means of a community resolution. The other three men, aged 35, 36 and 39 have been released under investigation.
