Premiair Reserves booked a Peterborough Minor Cup Final date with the all-star Stanground Sports team with a dramatic semi-final win over Peterborough League Division Four rivals Orton Rangers.

Premiair fought back from a half-time deficit to draw 3-3 and take the game into a penalty shoot- out which they won 4-3.

Joe Dobson (2) and Tyrese Brown scored for Premiair with Darrellon Holding, Ian Parker and Daniel Harber replying for Orton.

The final will take place at Candy Street on Saturday, May 4 (5.30pm kick-off ).

The race for runners-up spot behind likely Peterborough Premier Division champions Moulton Harrox is hotting up with Whittlesey Athletic and Stamford Lions keeping in touch with the leaders after impressive wins.

Matt Heron bagged a hattrick as Whittlesey beat fading champions Netherton United 4-1 at Feldale Field, while Lions came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at ICA Sports. Rob Ames scored both ICA goals.

Lions have several games in hand on those teams above them and they travel to one of them, Thorney, on Saturday when Whittlesey are at Ketton and Harrox host lowly Langtoft United.

Ketton’s game at bottom club Peterborough Polonia was postponed last weekend as the city side failed to raise a side.
