Music and chat with Dire Straits founder John

-

There is a night of great music and chat coming up next month for fans of rock legends Dire Straits.

A founder member and long-time bass player, John Illsley, was a major part of one of the biggest bands of all time. Dire Straits sold well over 100 million albums, spent 1,100 weeks on the UK album charts alone and received countless awards including four Grammies and three Brits as well as an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

He will be sharing some of that history, a complete treat for anyone remotely interested in music – and make no mistake it is history, the absolute stuff of legend– at the Key Theatre in Peterborough on November 13.

The show is a fascinating eye-opener with some wonderful music thrown in – an utterly entertaining and unique night out. He will be joined by old friend and Dire Straits co-manager Paul Cummins, who will be quizzing him on times past. Elizabeth & Jameson is an award-winning collaboration comprising two rising stars of the UK acoustic music scene – and you can catch them supporting the legendary Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra at Peterborough’s East of England Arena on Saturday. Hannah Elizabeth and Griff Jameson have joined forces to create an indie-folk sound which encompasses both their individual musical backgrounds. Hannah’s influences are firmly planted in traditional folk-roots, whilst in contrast Griff has formed his musical reputation within folk pop/rock genres. Hannah and Griff both work in Cambridgeshire and this autumn the duo are proud and extremely excited to be opening four shows for Jools Holland as part of their Autumn/Winter tour. Saturday 26 October – 7.30pm: East of England Arena, Showground, Peterborough. Go to: www. eastofenglandarena.com
