Ramsey lads close to making Daily Mail headlines
A fantastic run in the prestigious Daily Mail Foursomes for Ramsey Golf Club members Craig Thorburn and Ollie Wright came to an end at the quarter-final stage at European Tour course Slaley Hall in Northumberland.
Cambridgeshire A team player Thorburn, who plays off plus one, and four-handicapper Wright were beaten 2 & 1 by the eventual winners from Sudbury.
The Ramsey duo had knocked out holders Cosby in an earlier round of a competition that attracted 119,000 golfers.
Meanwhile Ellie Haughton, part of a talented family dynasty at Greetham Valley, has been excelling in the United States.
The Lincs County Ladies Champion won a scholarship to the University of Tennessee and she has helped her college to some outstanding results.
John Hickling won the latest mens Winter League event at Nene Park and also won a seniors stableford competition.
