FORM GUIDE

Apart from when Posh overtook them for three days last week, the Tractor Boys have led the division for pretty much the entire season.

As a newly-relegated team from the Championship they have every right to be favourites to win the title.

Two seasons ago all three relegated sides –Blackburn, Wigan and Rotherham – went straight back up and last season Barnsley did the same.

But, much as I suspected with Sunderland last season, Ipswichhavenotbuiltastellar sidecertaintowinpromotion.

Even strikers Kayden Jackson and James Norwood are unproven at League One level, although the former’s pace will be a threat to all, while Ipswich would also prosper if former Posh star Gwion Edwardsisgivenaregularattacking role in the side.

Ipswich will be hard to dislodge from the top six, but theylacktheflairtoguarantee automatic promotion.

FORM GUIDE

Wanderers have lost just one League One game all season and yet Sky Bet have them at 16/1 eighth favourites for the title. The bookie is right.

For an hour earlier this month Posh made Wycombe look ordinary, as well as tactically inept, before huge hoofs intothepenaltyareaunsettled afragilebackfourandrescued an unlikely point.

There can be no doubt though that manager Gareth Ainsworth has done a fantastic job on a limited budget and smaller clubs have gone up from the third tier fairly recently, namely Burton Albion.

One major problem for Wycombe is Ainsworth’s name popping into the frame for every single managerial vacancy – he might just have a busy agent – and if he went his current side’s promotion bidwouldcollapseevenquicker that I already expect it to.

They still lean too heavily on a 37 year-old immobile strikerinAdebayoAkinfenwa.
