FORM GUIDE. Rotherham are not likely to bounce straight back up as they did the last time they came down to League One.

They have ignored the fact that footballing sides have been more successful than those built around power in League One in recent seasons.

The top two last season – Luton and Barnsley – were also the best two footballing sides in the division.

Rotherham have a big squad and a stack of physical forward players, but there doesn’t even appear to be a 15-goal man among them and that will ultimately cost them, although they shouldn’t be ruled out of the play-off race as long as they can sort their home form out.

Defensively they are more thangoodenough, sosigninga striker in January will be crucial.TheMillers’potentialwas seen in their recent 2-0 win at Ipswich when former Cobblers midfielder Matt Crooks scored both goals.

FORM GUIDE.

Pompey are already 11 points and 13 places behind Posh, but they have two games in hand which if they win brings them right back into the promotion picture.

Their slow start to the season has been a real shock – the Peterborough Telegraph tipped them to win the title before a ball had been kicked – as they amassed 88 points in finishing fourth last season and looked to have strengthened their squad in the summer with the arrival of deadly forward John Marquis and attacking midfield talent Marcus Harneiss.

But Fratton Park has been aninhospitableplaceformanagerKennyJackettthisseason as his tactics are seen as negative.

It would be foolish to write him or the team off though, and one decent result would doubtless kick-start a charge up the table. By all accounts theyhavestartedtoplaymuch better without winning.
