I want the best for Peterborough, a prosperous, proud and positive Peterborough whose leaders have a public service ethos.

My first primary school was here in Wittering, Peterborough. When I left the Kings School my first job was in Woodston. I earned £160 a week and rent was only £20. School-leavers these days are lucky to earn £900 a month but are having to pay £600 plus, to rent a room.

My priorities are for more well paid jobs, a council house building programme to tackle the misery of homelessness and help bring rents down to an affordable level. Like they were when I left school, got a job and saved up a deposit to buy a house.

Peterboroughneedsagood relationship with Europe to protect jobs and industry at international companies like Whirlpool and Coloplast. What I want for Peterborough is an effective and efficient council that does not make decisions that waste millions of pounds. Paying millions of pounds above the market value to “friendly” developers for St Michaels Gate. Honesty and integrity from politicians is really important where we have representatives to serve.

I would like to see a Peterborough that does not call itself an environmental city when it clearly is not. Peterborough needs to play its part in tackling the climate emergency, a decent reliable and affordable bus service would help. As would having a locally committed elected representative such as myself, a safe pair of hands with the experience and knowledge to serve us well.
