The Peterborough Evening Telegraph
Which is your favourite?
There has been an intense goal of the season competition going on at Posh this season.
Spectacular efforts have been flying in, seemingly in every game.
But which has been the best Posh goal in League One matches? The Peterborough Telegraph panel of Posh writer Alan Swann and Posh media team legends Phil Adlam and Joe Dent have picked their favoutite nine and a poll will run on Twitter and online at www. peterboroughtoday.co.uk over the weekend for fans to vote for their favourite.
Our list, in no particular order, is...
1) Ivan Toney at Wycombe. An athletic scissor kick which flew into the roof of the net.
2) Marcus Maddison at MK Dons
He collected the ball 30 yards from goal, shimmied inside and let fly with a left-foot rocket which reached the net off the inside of the post.
3) Louis Reed v Lincoln City The little midfielder’s first (and so far only) goal of the season was a game-breaking, unstoppable smash from 20 yards into the roof of the net. 4) Ivan Toney v Lincoln City. Toney latched onto Niall Mason’s long pass and delivered the perfect lob over the visiting goalkeeper from the corner of the penalty area.
5) Marcus Maddison v Rochdale.
A magnificent chip from 25 yards after a hapless goalkeeper had passed the ball to him.
6) Marcus Maddison v Sunderland.
A 30-yard trademark swerving free-kick.
7)Joe Ward at Gillingham.
A dash forward from rightback followed by a 25-yard swerver into the top corner. 8)MoEisavAFCWimbledon. Classily created space in the penalty area and finished coolly, as always
9) Marcus Maddison v AFC Wimbledon.
Notable for the accuracy and strength of the shot from 25 yards with his supposedly weaker right foot.
