It was COPS’ seventh league win in 10 years. The B team finished fourth in the second premier league gala, which is an excellent result and avoids relegation to the second division.

COPS Head Coach, Ben Negus, said: “I’m very proud of the team performance this evening. We won so many races through better race skills, relay take-overs and our team atmosphere was first class.

“I’m delighted that some of our junior swimmers got to experience some of the leadership that was being displayed in the pool tonight, but also be a big part of it.

“We look forward to challenging our skills and leadership qualities against the nation’s best in Cardiff in March 2020.”
