RE Peterborough bus service disruptions as work starts on Queensgate cinema:

Seems to take ‘another step forward’ ten times a year.. no doubt the plans will be fully approved in a decade.

Matt Gibson

Phil Seaton Didn’t we used to have two large cinemas in town that closed because no one went to them ? Why would anyone want to go to a cinema in town, with the new increase in parking charges? We go to the showcase cinema, free parking and spacious comfortable seating.

Stuart Criddle Didn’t we used to have two large cinemas in town that closed because no one went to them ? Phil Seaton

Let’s put a cinema in a shopping centre that shuts a 8 PM with limited parking when we have perfect good one with plenty of parking and serviced by buses you know the ones they are moving to build the new cinema

Ian Plant They been on about a cinema in queensgate way before 2000 it was news then before I moved away I still can’t believe it’s never been done but once it’s done empire is so worth the money

RE Time to value workers in social care:

Great statements from our MP, but what actions locally and nationally from the party in power? I’m looking forward to HUGE changes in autism funding locally, as Paul has promised great things for autism, and also to positive changes for carers

Gail Howard Its about time qualifications were put in place and the job given

the wage and respect this job deserves. Unfortunately the care sector is being run for profit by unscrupulous care home owners

Marcia Martin

Training needs to be improved massively, level 2 and 3 should be paid for by employers and the qualifications reflected in pay. The standard 3 days of shadowing is useless for people new to care, but having an extra body on shift costs. Good health care workers are extremely undervalued .
