IN THE LINE OF DUTY & KILLERMAN

- with Alex Gordon

Signature, cert 15, £7.99 each These two action films will please fans of pedal-to-themetal entertainment. Hard-nosed rule-breaking cops now have to deal with cameras everywhere, capturing every move that’s not by the book. This digital era problem makes things tricky for Aaron Eckhart in the punchy In The Line of Duty playing disgraced officer Frank Penny who’s seeking redemption by hunting down the Chief of Police’s abducted 11-year-old daughter..and her kidnapper. Meanwhile she’s entombed in a box filling up with water and time’s running out. Then Frank makes things worse by shooting the suspect dead before he spills the beans on the youngster’s location. Now the chief’s bursting a blood vessel and Frank’s busting a gut to rescue the girl, but he’s being tracked on camera by vlogger/reporter Ava (Courtney Eaton) when he goes off the radar to hunt down the suspect’s accomplice, and the story’s playing like an action movie online with chases, shoot-outs and punch-ups and social media’s lit up like a Christmas tree as it goes viral. Heaps of fun!.

Meanwhile, in Killerman, Liam Hemsworth (younger brother of fellow Aussie actors Chris and Luke) plays unscrupulous money launderer Moe Diamond, who’s far from being a diamond geezer and getting involved in a $2 million deal to use a gangster’s funds to make a quick buck lands him in the middle of big trouble pursued by dirty cops and hoodlums in this violent but fast moving pulp-thriller.

Which Hemsworth plays Thor? Entries to Alex Gordon, Action competition by March 5.
