LAST CHANCE TO VOTE

-

The race is on to be crowned a champion at the Peterborough Telegraph Sports Awards and voting has been fast, furious... and friendly

Deadline for votes is Monday (see panel on this page for details) and there is already a searing pace being set in all categories.

While we are taking in your texts and other entries, there has been plenty of reaction with even Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony Tweeting from his holiday in Dubai: “Nice to be nominated. Don’t think I’ve won it before.”

He hasn’t...so will he do it this year, thanks to you? Only you can decide!

Elsewhere, the nomination of Oliver Chapman in the Disabled Achiever category has attracted the interest of another nominee, Peterborough Sports. The football club’s secretary John Robinson Tweeted: “Would Ollie like to join us one week as mascot and watch a game as our guests?” The offer was accepted.

The new look Peterborough Telegraph Annual Sports Awards will take place on Monday, March 30, at the Key Theatre, Peterborough. Guests will be able to enjoy mingling with friends, family and colleagues at the theatre with access to several bars and buffet-style hot food will be served.

All shortlisted nominees (see panel, right) will receive a complimentary ticket to the awards event (teams will receive two complimentary tickets per team) and further tickets can be purchased on our dedicated Eventbrite site which is now open.

Tickets will cost £20 + VAT and the Eventbrite booking fee. To book, go to: https:// www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/ peterborough-telegraphsports-awards-2020-tickets98038867893?aff=erelexpmlt

PT editor Mark Edwards said: “We love to be able to recognise the incredible achievements of sports people of all ages. So please vote!”
