Six of the best for Lucy as girls make a century

Peterborou­gh Rugby Club’s junior section put all the frustratio­n of weeks of weatherrel­ated cancellati­ons behind them on Sunday with a string of fine victories.

The biggest winners of the day were the under 13 girls, who beat Newark 105-25 after losing to them earlier in the season!

Lucy Dangerfiel­d led the way with six tries with other s coming from Jemima Mitchell (4) Demi Petrie (2), Emily Fosbeary (2), Gabby Clarke (2), Hannan Heslope (2) and debutant Tia Condon(2).

The under 15 boys won 29-0 at Biggleswad­e, thanks to a brace of tries for Harvey Tomeo and one apiece for Junior Little, Peter Sweet and Sam Neath while George Neale kicked two conversati­ons.

The under 14 team celebrated their biggest victory of the season, 62-0 at Ely.

Norbert Zastawnik, Hadley Pullen, David Okeke and Kieran Eddings all scored two tries, with Jose Chappell and Theo Forbes also crossing while Cameron Howe (3), Chappell (2) and Joshi Grant all kicked conversion­s.

The under 13s were 50-30 winners over Ely.

Stuart Bradbury and Toby Curran claimed two tries apiece with one each for Tom Oldaker, Oliver Moult, Jack Warrington, Riley Kitchen, Monty James and Jack ‘Sticky’ Wheatley.

Peterborou­gh girls under • 15s play their Midlands Final against Worcester in Leicester on Sunday.

The game doubles as a National quarter-final with Borough keen to go at least one better than last season when they lost to eventual champions Barker’s Butts at this stage.

Oundle men warmed • up for a second-placed showdown in Midlands Division One East with Derby this Saturday with an easy 43-15 win over Market Harborough. Joe Sagoe claimed two of Oundle’s seven tries

Stamford stormed back • to the top of Midlands Division Three East with a royal 34-21 win over Bedford Queens.

Rees Burns and Toby Anderson scored two tries for Stamford who lead Oakham on points difference with Bourne just five points back.
