Queen of Clean goes interactive with book
Hampton’s cleaning royalty, Lynsey Crombie, Hampton also known as the ‘Queen of Clean’ has released an interactive new book. Hoping readers will dust down their bookshelves, Lynsey’s new book doesn’t promote just cleaning but the mindfulness around that, showing readers that cleaning can bring calm and focus in uncertain times.
Being an advocate that cleaning helps your mental health, Lynsey wants her book to change people’s perspective on cleaning.
She said: “At the moment people are bored staying indoors but cleaning is a boredom buster. You can take your time and use it as an opportunity. If you can get out your mop, put some uplifting music on it can be fun.
“People consider housework to be a chore but if you do it in the right way, it can be really good for your mental health.”
Lynsey is adjusting herself to a new routine, with her family. Even she has found the conflicting routines of her family difficult at times, but hopes her new book can bring some structure.
She said: “Seeing more of my children has been great, as well as having my husband who is still working from home. If you show kids a sense of achievement, it is great for involving them in housework. Giving them different things to do shows not only one person has to do one job.”
The interactive book promotes cleaning through the seasons: things to do in the spring, preparing for winter in autumn and making the most of the summer months. Aimed at first time home owners, busy families and those in need of a refresher, Lynsey hopes the book will ‘lift spirits and show cleaning in a new light’.
