Components firm sees profits soar

Employer is praised for work to help manufacture of medical components for NHS

An electronic components supplier has been named as one of the fastest growing profit makers in the UK.

Anglia Components, in Sandall Road, Wisbech, saw its profits soar by more than 62 per cent over three years to the end of 2018 to £7.1 million.

Over the same period, turnover at the company, which has 145 staff and stocks more than one billion componentsfromover900,000product lines in the UK, reached a record high of £66.9 million.

The company has just been included in the 21st Sunday Times Profit Track Covid-19 league table in 42nd place out of 70 companies.

It was also been praised for its creation of a task force to ensure components reached firms designing or manufacturing vital medical equipment to help address the Covid-19 emergency.
