Over 8,000 Leicester fans watched their team get stuffed!
Tony Adcock finished Posh top scorer in the 1992-93 season with 16 Division One goals, followed by Tony Philliskirk (11) and Worrell Sterling (8).
Philliskirk replaced Wembley • hero Ken Charlery who was sold to Division One rivals Watford for a Posh club record £350,000 just five months after his play-off final heroics.

Derby home and away even though the Rams spent a relative fortune for the time in the close season, including a £1 million fee for Crystal Palace striker Marco Gabbiadini.
The biggest • Posh win of the Division One season alongside the home success over Leicester was 5-2 against Sunderland at London Road which included a glorious goal for Dominic Iorfa, his only goal of that season.
The biggest Posh defeats • were 4-0 at Millwall and at Portsmouth.
Goalkeeper
• Ian Bennett (right) played in all 55 competitive Posh matches in the 1992-93 campaign. Centreback Steve Welsh made 54 appearances and Adcock made 52.
Posh didn’t fare so well in
• the cups. They lost 3-2 on aggregate to Leicester in the second round of the League Cup and 3-2 to lower level Plymouth in the FA Cup second round.
Posh • boasted an average attendance of 8,064 at London Road that season. The biggest crowd was 15,545 for the late-season win over Leicester which included almost 8,400 visiting fans!
Posh won more away • games (9) than home games (7) in the 1992-93 season. They won five of their first six away trips including a 2-1 success at Watford when Philliskirk scored twice for Posh and Charlery replied for the home side!

Posh fought back from 2-0 down to draw at Cambridge. Sterling scored the only goal in the reverse fixture at London Road.
