Chatteris puncher Jordan ‘the Thrill’ Gill will be back in action next month - in promoter Eddie Hearn’s back garden!

Hearns is hosting a ‘Fight Camp’ series of bouts under his Matchroom Boxing banner at his mansion in Brentwood, Essex on August 1 which will be screened live on Sky Sports.

And Gill has been chosen to take part in a featherweight scrap against fellow Brit Reece Bellotti. Both men are former Commonwealth champions

The stakes will be high for both as they seek to fight their way back into title contention.

Gill was due to return on the cancelled David Avanesyan v Josh Kelly card at The O2 Arena at the end of last year, which would have been his second fight since losing his unbeaten record to hardpunching Mexican Enrique Tinoco in May 2019.

“The main reason I took this fight is because if I win, it will catapult me back to where I want to be,” Gill told boxing=social. com

“It’s a must-win for both of us. I’m not just going in there to do the business, but to look good doing it as well.

“These shows behind closed doors are a new challenge. People around the world will be watching so we need to make the most of this opportunity.”

Watford-based Belotti is coming off a tough, split decision loss to Francesco Grandelli in Italy last October.

Belotti said: “Me and Jordan have both had recent setbacks, we need to get back in the mix and to do that you have to win fights like this.

“Iwon’tneedtogetpumped up for this one. It’s a must win. Jordan is a good fighter. I will have to be on my game.”

Gill, who turned 26 this week, has won 24 and lost one of his 25 professional fights with seven knockouts.

Belotti has won 14 and lost three of his 17 fights, but has secured 12 knockouts.
