Milton man badly cut after great round

Milton man Michael Raftis has had his handicap cut from 10 to six after amassing 47 points in a midweek stableford competitio­n.

Raftis had five gross birdies (net eagles) and nine gross pars in a oneunder par round of 70 (net 60).

He came home in a two under par 33 on the back nine to win Division Two of the competitio­n by eight points from Jimmy Govere and 10 points from Bob Wilkinson.

Division One was won by Oliver Clark (40 points) with James Martin (37) and Andy Brown (42) winning Divisions Three and Four respective­ly.

Ashley Miles won the Morton Cup at March with a net score of 64 playing off a 28 handicap.

Dawn and Mike Robinson won a closely-fought mixed pairs competitio­n at March.
