Organisers of Peterborough’s Truckfest have assured visitors the event will be Covid-19 safe.

The event is one of the biggest in Peterborough’s calendar, and will take place on at the East of England Showground on August 30 and 31, having been postponed from its traditional spot in May.

Truckfest is one of the few large events taking place in the city this year, and will see the usual attractions of arena stunt displays, a range of trucks and shopping stalls.

This week, organisers outlined the safety measures being taken to keep people safe. Live Promotions, who run Truckfest, said: “The safety of our visitors and exhibitors is Live Promotions’ number one priority.

“We can confirm we have complied with the Government’s guidance on managing the risk of Covid-19.

“Rest assured Live are working with the venue and following Government guidelines to ensure safety on site.

“Covid-19 guidance is constantly being reviewed and Live will look to follow the relevant guidance at the time, on site.”

To stick to the measures, there will be a crowd density standard, to ensure social distancing of at least one metre will be possible.

All visitors will have to preregister to allow contact tracing to take place.

There will be a one-way system through the site with wider aisles than normal.

An enhanced clean, including fogging of toilets, will be visible on-site. Cleaners will be directed to have an increased focus on key touch points, including restrooms, food and beverage areas, and help points.

Hand sanitiser stations will be positioned at key locations throughout the event, including restrooms and food and beverage locations, with signage around site encouraging all on-site to use regularly.

Signage will be displayed prominently, in common areas, around site and this together with public addresses will repeat messages about the importance of maintaining physical distance and the importance of washing and sanitising hands in addition to other best practices.

Tickets are now on sale. • For more details visit https:// www.truckfest.co.uk/truckfest-peterborough/
