FIVE THINGS FOR YOUR WEEK...
STREAMING Get Organised Netflix, from Wednesday
Oscar-winning star Reese Witherspoon (right) is one of the executive producers of this new series. She’s also one of the clients of its hosts, Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin, the master organisers and bestselling authors behind The Home Edit, a company that clears clutter and turns chaotic households into tidy, functional places. Now they’re bringing their expertise to the small screen across eight episodes in which they help both a famous face and a member of the public transform their homes and – so they claim – their lives. So, if you need tips on how to stop hoarding and get stylish, this is the show to watch. Among the celebrities set to appear are Witherspoon herself, Khloe Kardashian, Retta, Neil Patrick Harris and Jordana Brewster.
TV Britain’s Got Talent ITV, Saturday, 8pm
Ant and Dec host the first semi-final of this year’s talent contest, making a return to screens following the auditions episodes broadcast in the spring. Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Ashley Banjo are on the judging desk, as the acts that impressed them the most return, including the golden buzzer acts – singer Fayth Ifil, comedian and singer Jon Courtney, choir Sign Along With Us, comedian Nabil Abdulrashid, and mother and daughter singing duo, Honey and Sammy. Eight acts perform in each semi-final, with two finalists selected by the judges and the votes of viewers.
FILM Invictus
BBC One, 8.05pm, Saturday
Following his release from Robben Island, South African President Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) inherits a country deeply scarred by apartheid. Nowhere is this more pronounced than on the rugby field: only white
South Africans cheer the Springboks. With only a year until his nation hosts the Rugby World Cup, Mandela attempts to heal the emotional rift and inspire captain Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon) and his men to victory. Invictus elegantly sidesteps the pitfalls of the sports genre, adhering closely to the facts and thereby eschewing sentimentality. Clint Eastwood’s majestic film celebrates the titanic efforts of Mandela and Pienaar on and off the pitch, relying on magnificent performances from the leads to embody these charismatic figures.
SPORT
Tour de France Live 2020 ITV 4, 12.15pm, Saturday
Gary Imlach presents coverage of stage eight, a mountainous 141km route from Cazeres-surGaronne to Loudenvielle. The first Pyrenees stage in this year’s race should be both dynamic and demanding. After climbing the Col de Menté, the riders then pass through the Port de Balès and Col de Peyresourde mountain passes. A fine downhill rider should then have the opportunity to take advantage of the 10km descent to the finish.
