New directors are named to join BGL

Insurance giant appoints two new non-executive directors

A leading digital distributo­r of insurance has named two new non-executive directors to join its board.

The BGL Group, which employs more than 1,000 staff at its offices in Bakewell Road, Orton Southgate, has announced the appointmen­t of the Timo Boldt, the founder and chief executive of fast growing technology company, recipe box Gousto, to the BGL (Holdings) Group Board.

Before creating Gousto,

Mr Boldt spent most of his career as a hedge fund manager and was named Young Entreprene­ur of the Year at the GB Entreprene­ur Awards while Gousto was crowned winner of the UK Customer Experience Awards.

In addition, Thomas Chambers, who is chair of Propel London, a leading UK digital new media, marketing and IT recruitmen­t agency, will join the board at BGL’s comparethe­market.com.

The two join as the BGL Group welcome sits new chief executuve Mark Bailie, who joined the company at the start of the month, andreplace­s outgoing chief executive MatthewDon­aldson, who leaves after 20 years’ service.
