Positive cases increase
There has been a significant rise in the number of positive Covid-19 cases in one area of Peterborough in the past week. Inthesevendaysending Friday, October 9, there were 18 positive tests recorded in Hampton Vale - in the previous seven days there werejust five positive tests.
The new numbers put the neighbourhood at the top of the list for Peterboroughpositive cases last week,
Last week 20 neighbourhoods in the city recorded at least three cases - three more than the previous week.
WaltonandFlettondidnot record three or more positive tests. A number of areas surrounding Peterborough have also recorded at least three, with Yaxley and Farcet, Whittlesey, King’s Cliffe, Woodnewton & Easton, Stamford Central, West and South, Stamford North, Deeping St James & Frognall, Market Deeping, Crowland, Wisbech andWisbechStMary, Waldersea & Christchurch among them. The data comes from Public Health England, who have split the country into neighbourhoods of approximately 7,200 people. The data includes lab confirmed positive cases of Covid-19reported by October 11 with specimen dates between October 3 and October9. North West Anglia
NHS Foundation Trust confirmed a further five deaths from Covid at their hospitals.
Caroline Walker, chief executive, for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I can confirm that sadly, 265 patients being cared for in our trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths. There have been103at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 162 at Peterborough City Hospital. All patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and had pre-existing health conditions. Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ families and loved ones at this difficult time.”
