Lawyer appointed to disputes panel
A prominent lawyer with a Peterborough law firm has been selected to join a national advice group for the agricultural industry. Tim Russ, a leading agricultural lawyer at Roythornes, which has offices in Stuart House, St John’s Street, has been appointed to a new panel aimed at providing specialist advice to rural sector professionals.
The Dispute Resolution Panel was set up earlier this year by the Agricultural Law Association (ALA), which is the UK’s largest inter-professional organisation devoted to the law and business of the countryside.
It brings together experts who are at the top of their profession with a particular expertise in mediation and arbitration and will provide independent services for fellow professionals.
Mr Russ, who has been with Roythornes since 2014, is one of nine specialists on the arbitration panel and seven on the mediation panel.
His appointment was confirmed after he completed an independently assessed submission in which he detailed some of the cases he had worked on and provided testimonials from other professionals.
Mr Russ, who is a senior dispute resolution lawyer specialising in agricultural law, food law, private client and property disputes, said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed to the panel.
He added: “As a firm we are known for our agricultural expertise and being appointed to the ALA panel is recognition of my experience and the skills we have in the firm.”
