Serhat to buzz off and play for the Bees

-

Attacking midfielder Serhat Tasdemir was set to leave Posh for National League Barnet on a season-long loan last night (Wednesday).

The 20 year-old was having a medical at the Hive after agreeing to join the Bees.

He had turned down the chance to join Barnet permanently after the clubs had agreed a fee.

Tasdemir was transfer listed by Posh at the end of last season. He’d been told under 23 football was the best he could hope for if he stayed at the Weston Homes Stadium.

Posh signed the Azerbaijani international from National League Fylde in July, 2019, but he started just one Football League game - a 1-0 home win over Bolton Wanderers for the club.

Tasdemir has made 20 Posh appearances in total. His Posh deal expires at the end of this season, but the club have an option to extend it.

Tasdemir will link up with former Liverpool and Leeds United star Harry Kewell who was manager of Oldham Athletic when the player moved on loan to Boundary Park last season. Kewell was appointed Barnet boss last month.

Transfer-listed Posh goalkeeper Dan Gyollai has also been training at Barnet. The 24 year-old failed to break into Posh’s League One side last season after moving to London Road from Wigan.

He started just four Papa John’s Trophy matches for Posh.

Posh director of football Barry Fry reports no recent bids have been made for midfielder Ryan Broom or striker Mo Eisa, the two other players placed on the transfer list at the end of last season.

Eisa was linked with MK Dons, but they have now signed one-time Posh target Max Watters who moved to stadium:mk on loan from Championship club Cardiff.
