The Peterborough Evening Telegraph
A local woman has opened the first oxygen therapy centre in Peterborough, offering versatile treatments for all ages.
Oxygen Therapy, based in Culley Court, uses the most up-to-date equipment and owner, Aleksandra Bojanska explains what the therapy is and how it works.
What is oxygen therapy?
Our bodies need oxygen to survive and to thrive, but there are times when additional oxygen has real benefits. Hyperbaric chambers have been used for many years to alleviate some conditions and by sports people.
They’ve now become a mainstream complimentary therapy, with multiple wellness uses.
How hyperbaric oxygen therapy can help you?
Everyone who suffered from any inflammation will benefit from this therapy as well as people with Multiple Sclerosis, cancer, arthritis, long COVID, any cardiac and neurological conditions, Aleksandra explained.
This type of therapy can also support recovery following a stroke, and after cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is also known to help with chronic fatigue and can boost your mental health and wellbeing by decreasing feelings of depression and low moods whilst increasing your energy and improving sleeping patterns.
As a bonus, it helps to control your weight and reduce wrinkles by helping produce much more collagen in your body!
How does it work? Aleksandra said:
“Our tissues and cells need a certain amount of oxygen to function correctly. Injured tissues need a lot more oxygen in order to heal. “HBOT works by delivering concentrated pure oxygen to your body. It is as natural as breathing, but much more powerful.”
It’s a non-invasive therapy that takes place while you lie down in a spacious hyperbaric oxygen chamber. You may feel a slight pressure in your ears, similar to when taking off in a plane, she explained.
What do users say?
Since it open in Peterborough, clients have really noticed the difference and have given their feedback.
Dean said: “The treatments are very reasonably priced and the personal service is excellent. As a long COVID sufferer who has lung damage, I can confirm that I am seeing the benefits. I would suggest anyone else give this a go and you will be very happy.”
April added: “From the nopressure, free consultation to my most recent session the whole experience has been fantastic. I’m definitely seeing the benefits of the treatment.”
Who benefits?
People have used oxygen therapy to help with symptoms of a variety of skin and joint conditions, beauty regimes, sporting recovery and more.
Aleksandra said: “It’s a lovely way of relaxing, many people feel the benefits just from that.”
