Martin (26) finishing tied 14th at the Coolangatta Tweed Heads course in Australia after rounds of 76-67-70-73 with the highlight a five under par second round 67, which included including four birdie 2s to make the cut. She eventually finished the tournament on an excellent two under par.

Sweden’s Maja Stark won the event to claim her third Tour win in eight months. The 22-year-old led from day one and carded a fourth round of 70 (-2) to finish on 15-under-par and seal the win five shots ahead of compatriot Johanna Gustavsson.

Martin turned pro last year, but failed to win her full European Tour card at the December qualifying school so relies on sponsors’ invites and qualifying events to take part in the biggest competitions, although if her ranking continutes to rise she will receive exemptions.

Martin studied for a BSc (Hons) Golf Coaching and Performance for three years at Myerscough College. She was also a very atlented tennis player before switching full-time to golf.
