Racer Ed is on the up, despite going down

-

A recent downgrading to the ‘B Class’ for Peterborough 1300 Stock Car racer Edward Selby has certainly sparked the 19 year-old into life as he had a tremendous weekend in the formula racing at King’s Lynn on Saturday and Sheffield on Sunday.

Things did not start off too well at Lynn when he failed to finish his first heat, but improved considerably in the second heat when he came home in a tremendous runner up spot to John Moat in his second heat and went even better in the final when he came out on top in a tremendous scrap with Sonny Wright to take the chequered flag.

There were more great results for Selby at Sheffield on Sunday when two great drives saw him win both his heats before another rostrum finish in the final came his way with a tremendous third place finish.

Two more local drivers were in action in the 1300 Stock Cars at King’s Lynn with 16 yearold Riley Shinn – a recent graduate from the Junior Bangers – continuing to get laps in and more experience and still came home with some points with a ninth and tenth place finish in his heats whilst his uncle Wayne Shinn made his first appearance in the formula in a Carl Waterfield hire car and did more than enough to suggest he would be a fantastic addition to the formula should he decide to make more regular appearances!

Brett Judge was in action in the Almera Bangers, but had nothing to show for some spirited efforts.

Stock Cars take centre stage at King’s Lynn this Saturday (5pm) when the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars will be in action along with the 2L Stock Cars and BriSCA MiniStox.
