Market Deeping have finally found their best form in the Lincs Premier Division.

The men from Outgang Road lost their first six matches in the competition this summer, but they have responded with two fine, yet very different, wins in a row.

Deeping followed a 10-wicket home romp against Spalding with a tight 18-run victory at Lindum which featured a decent allround display from Josh Smith (34 & 3-38).

Sam Malton (39) top scored in Deeping’s 175 allout, while outstanding pace bowler Hayatullah Niazi, a Norwegian international, and youngster Matty Mills undermined the start of the Lindum reply.

Deeping remain 90 points behind neighbours and league leaders Bourne who have won all eight of their matches. A low-scoring five-wicket success over Woodhall Spa at the Abbey Lawn propelled them back to the top of the table ahead of a big game against thirdplaced Grantham on Saturday (11.30am) when Deeping host Bracebridge Heath and Spalding travel to Woodhall. Jack Berry claimed 5-23 for Bourne.

Spalding bounced back from their mauling at Deeping to beat Nettleham by 14 runs in another low scoring game.

Peterborough Town jumped back to the top of Rutland Division One with an eight-wicket stroll against Barnack at Bretton Gate. New skipper Kyle Medcalf cracked 50 for Town.

Uppingham Town opener Sam Hodson smacked 204 at Uffington in the same division as his side rattled up 420-4 in their 45 overs! Fellow opener George Morley struck 103 in a game Uppingham won by a massive 270 runs.

Peterborough Town seconds, who started the day bottom of the table, are off the mark in Northants Division One as they claimed a surprise six-wicket win at leaders Wollaston. Seamers Mohammed Abu Bakr Raza (4-13), Danny Iqbal (332) and Jamie Smith (3-37) did the damage as Wollaston were rushed out for just 86. Sreehari Subramonian top scored with 45 in Town’s reply.

Town thirds maintained their fine start in Hunts Division Three with an 88-run win over Easton.
