City of Peterborough Swimming Club are delighted to see 17 of their promising young swimmers qualifying for national competitions this summer.

An elite swimming club, City of Peterborough pride themselves on excellence, commitment and hard work, and after the pandemic have worked extremely hard to rebuild strength, speed and teamwork to again be able to provide their rising stars the opportunities to compete on a national stage.

And that work has paid off handsomely.

Head coach Ben Negus said “After an 18 month lockdown, a return to the pool in which we’ve not had pools on a consistent basis and we’ve had to restructure our whole programme to suit the limitations set on the club, we are delighted to see 17 of our members qualify for this summer's British and Home Nation Summer Nationals.

“The coaching team and executive committee at this club are proud of the work behind the scenes to ensure this group represents Peterborough at the highest domestic level.

“It’s a credit to their attitude and commitment and the support their teammates have given that they represent COPS on this stage.”
