Formartine looking to finish with six of the best
Formartine United and Rothes close the Highland League season when they meet at North Lodge Park tonight.
Steve Paterson’s mencan end the season with six consecutive victories and the United manager said: “Hopefully we can get another win to finish off what hasbeena mediocre season in a bit of style.
“It wouldbenice if Bobby Mann could sign off in his last game for ourselves with a goal – he’s hit the bar and the post as many times as he’s found the back of the net.”
Paterson added: “We know Rothes won’t be easy. They will want to end their season on a positive note as well, but we have been playing a lot of good football in recent weeks and I think our supporters have appreciated it.
“The only doubt we have is Andy Bagshaw, who came off with a thigh strain against Fort William last week.”
Rothes manager Graham Mcbeath said: “We went up to Wick on Saturday and came away with a very good 1-1 draw, so it should be a good game to end the season.
“United have turned the corner and they will finish in a respectable position after a poor season, but we are still disappointed they beat us 4-1 at Mackessack Park earlier this season. I felt wewerethe betterteam but they were awarded a couple of dubious goals, althoughwealso contributed to our own downfall with a couple of errors.
“Thescore flattered them so this will give us a chance to avenge the defeat, with a full-strength squad at our disposal we definitely have a chance.”
