Metro’s Thornhill leads field home in Aberdeen parkrun

Craig Thornhill (Metro Aberdeen) took the top honours in the Aberdeen parkrun 5km, leading the field home in 19min 43sec. Yoann Desriac was 9sec behind in second position while Kevin Casey was third in 20:25.

Clare Russell (Metro Aberdeen) was first woman in 22:06 with Christie Ford (Falkland Hill Runners) second in 22:42 and Kayla Conradie (Aberdeen University Tri Club) third in 24:09.

Stonehaven Running Club’s Ron Gauld was first in the Aberdeen Hazlehead parkrun 5km when clocking 16:51 to finish 45sec clear of Tom Brian (Metro Aberdeen) with Robert Leigh a further 20sec behind in third.

Veteran Carolyn Milne (Garioch Road Runners) led the way in the women’s division of the run, recording 20:24 while Kirsty Anderson (Metro Aberdeen) was second in 22:11 and Alex Shaw took third in 23:37.

Graham Bee (Inverness Harriers) was first past the post in the Inverness parkrun 5km when posting a time of 16:53. Carl Krystek was a clear second in 18:18 with Sam Pole (Fleckney and Kibworth) third in 18:39.

Former Scotland internatio­nal 400m runner Lesley Clarkson (Inverness Harriers) was the leading woman in 20:10 while her clubmate Gillian Grant was second in 21:34 and Carla Green (North Wales Road Runners) took third in 21:41.

Peterhead AAC’s former Scotland internatio­nal distance runner Alan Reid led the way in the Elgin parkrun 5km in 18:17 while Murray Taylor (Manchester Tri Club) was second in 18:28 and Steven Carmichael (Moray Road Runners) finished third in 18:51.

Moray’s Karen Norvall secured first place in the women’s run in 23:02, 8sec ahead of Laura Ritchie (Bellahoust­on Harriers) while Maria McCloud was third in 23:38.

Edward Fernandez topped the bill at the Ellon parkrun 5km, clocking 18:45 to finish ahead of Andy Lavelle (Royal Marines Tri), 19:38, and Jack Ross-Thompson (Ellon), 20:04.

Jennifer Hood was first woman in 24:20 with Laura Bennie next in 25:34 and Wendy Bridger third in 26:57.

Darroch Anderson was fastest at the Stonehaven parkrun 5km with a time of 19:42 while David Purvis pipped Ewan MacAngus (Stonehaven Running Club) by 2sec to take second position in 21:25.

Becky Ward (Metro Aberdeen) led the women’s field home in 24:20 with Keri Keddie second in 26:23 and Lorna Buchan third in 27:45.
