entley has revealed its first diesel car – the Bentayga Diesel.

Powered by a triple-charged 4.0-litre V8 diesel engine, the Bentayga produces 429bhp and 663lb/ft of torque. This allows it to reach 62mph in just 4.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 168mph.

This means that the Bentayga takes the title of the world’s fastest diesel-powered SUV.

However, despite the performance on offer, the Bentayga Diesel emits the lowest amount of CO2 of any Bentley, at 210g/km.

It also has an impressive range of 612 miles.

Wolfganag Durheimer, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors, said: “The Bentayga Diesel represents a moment of immense significance in Bentley’s history, by giving the world its fastest luxury diesel SUV. Immense power, grand touring capabilities and superb refinement – this is a true Bentley.

Inside the Bentayga Diesel, hand-selected veneers are used throughout the cabin, with each produced by Bentley’s craftsmen.

Owners have the option of having the Mulliner hamper set, which comes with a refrigerator, china cutlery and crystal glass, as well as a storage compartment for dry items. Sections of the hamper can then be removed and used as seats. This, of course, comes at an additional cost.

A bespoke Mulliner Tourbillion by Breitling clock can also be specified. This is crafted from solid gold, and is wound by a mechanism fitted inside the car. This, however, commands a £150,000 premium.

Deliveries in Europe for the Bentayaga Diesel are due to commence early next year.
