BMW has unveiled a new limited-edition model – the M4 CS. Powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged engine, the M4 CS produces 454bhp – making it the most powerful series-production M4 yet. It’ll reach 60mph in 3.7 seconds, and carry on to a top speed of 174mph.

A seven-speed dualclutch transmission transfers power to the rear wheels, and features long seventh gear for better fuel consumption on longer journeys.

The car’s suspension setup is similar to that found in the M4 Competition Pack. Its geometry has been specifically tuned to deal well with both road and track, and the M4 CS recently completed a lap of the Nurburgring in seven minutes 38 seconds.

The front end of the car features twin LED headlights, as well as large threesection air intakes. It is also

Volkswagen has revealed its I.D. Crozz concept crossover vehicle.

Coming as the third car in the I.D. series, the Crozz uses high-performance batteries to offer an all-electric range of around 310 miles. Volkswagen claims that it will take just 30 minutes to return the batteries to 80% charged using a fast charger.

Production of the I.D. fitted with a large front splitter for better downforce at high speeds.

The car’s overall weight is kept low thanks to panels created from carbon fibrereinforced plastic. The M4 CS’s bonnet and roof, for Crozz is expected to begin in 2020, with the four-door car offering not just low emissions but autonomous driving, too. The driver needs only to touch the Volkswagen badge on the steering wheel for three seconds and the car will switch to autopilot.

This reveal by Volkswagen at the Shanghai Motor Show is a clear indication of its move towards increased example, are made of this lightweight material.

Fitted with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels wearing sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres, the M4 CS should be just as capable in the corners as its impressive production of electric cars.

Another key innovation in the I.D. Crozz is the LED headlights. These C-shaped units merge in the centre of the car to form electronic ‘eyes’. They can then communicate with other road users when the car is in autonomous I.D. Pilot mode, giving fellow motorists an indication of the car’s direction. performance makes it on the straights.

Inside, the M4 CS is treated to an Alcantaratrimmed steering wheel, while a variety of other surfaces are finished in the material, too.

Despite being more compact than VW’s Tiguan SUV, the I.D. Crozz is able to provide just as much space as the larger car. The suspension and drivetrain components are situated at the edges of the car’s body, ensuring that the interior can offer plenty of space. The batteries are also integrated in the vehicle’s floor, which helps increase space levels even further.
