Tech talks aimed at helping energy industry
A series of events will strengthen links between technology developers and oil and gas operators.
The Innovation Network Tech Talk sessions will give developers a platform to showcase innovative technologies.
Organised by the Aberdeen-based Industry Technology Facilitator (ITF), the first of the free events will be held at the city’s Chester Hotel on June 28 at 5pm.
Tammie Sebire, technical project authority at Premier Oil, will give an overview of industry needs from an operator’s point of view. Developers will then host an interactive session to showcase their technology and how they can help solve industry challenges.
ITF chief executive Patrick O’Brien said: “These events complement our Innovation Network in bringing together our members with developers that could potentially solve some of their costly challenges.
“If we are going to have a sustainable industry with a lower for longer price, then new technology is going to play a vital role.
“We hope these tech talks will increase the dialogue between technology developers and key industry players.”
Ms Sebire said: “In the current environment it is even more important for oil and service companies to work together to get things moving. The key focus will be on implementing current and new cost-effective technology quickly and not be frightened to challenge existing paradigms.”
