Prime heifers (16) averaged 228.6p (+7.4p) and sold to 244p a kg for a 610kg Lim X from Shoreton Farms, Culbokie, and £1,524 for a 635kg Lim X also from Shoreton Farms to John M. Munro. – New season lambs (174) averaged 215.5p (-8.1p) and sold to 227.3p a kg for 44kg Tex X from 3 Balnabeen, Conon Bridge, to Fraser Brothers Butchers, Dingwall, and £100 twice for 44kg Tex from 3 Balnabeen, to Fraser Brothers Butchers, and for a pen of 46kg Tex X from Blairbuie, Halkirk. SQQ 36.5kg to 45.5kg (168) averaged 215.6p (-8.6p) a kg. Feeding sheep (82) sold to £112 for a Tex ewe from Lochdhu, Nairn. STIRLING

Spring lambs (500) at Caledonian Marts Ltd sold to £124 from Nochnary, Freuchie, for a 58kg Tex to average £94.59 (+£2.50 on the week). Top price per kg was 264p to John Messenger, Ayton, Abernethy, for a pair of 42kg Tex. Overall average was 223.2 pa kg (-4.5 po nt he week). Heavy ewes (57) averaged £69.69 and sold to £125 for a Tex from Allanview, Braco. Export ewes (123) averaged £53.86. There was a good demand for all Blackface cast ewes with heavy sorts a bit harder to cash. Tups sold to £96 for a Tex from West Mains, Gleneagles. .................................................................
