Chem­istry Week events in city

A week of chem­istry­themed ac­tiv­i­ties will be held in Aberdeen next week as part of an an­nual cel­e­bra­tion of the sci­ence.

The city’s two uni­ver­si­ties have teamed up to or­gan­ise a se­ries of events to co­in­cide with the UK-wide Chem­istry Week.

These fea­ture a lec­ture from foren­sic pathol­o­gist Pro­fes­sor James Grieve, whose work al­lowed po­lice to re­open the inves- tiga­tion into wife-killer Mal­colm Web­ster. Else­where, Aberdeen Sci­ence Cen­tre will host a “takeover” event with pop-up chem­istry ac­tiv­i­ties for fam­i­lies in­clud­ing magic writ­ing and mak­ing vol­ca­noes.
