Police hunt for attackers
Police were last night hunting for a gang who assaulted a man on an Aberdeen street.
Emergency services were called to a stretch of Great Northern Road, near a Poundstretcher store, following reports of an attack at about 6.30pm.
The man suffered a cut to the head, but police said the injury was not serious and that an ambulance was called to attend only as a precaution.
A spokesman for the force said that officers were sent to scour the area in a search for the “number of others”.
He said: “The male has been assaulted by a number of other people and the individuals responsible made off afterwards.”
Late last night police could not confirm whether any arrests had been made, and said inquiries remained ongoing.
