Callater projects set new standards

- BY KEITH FINDLAY

Aberdeen-based engineering services firm PD&MS Group said yesterday work it carried out for Apache on the Callater tie-back project in the UK North Sea played a major part in setting new industry benchmarks.

Callater achieved first oil in May, only 23 months after discovery and five weeks ahead of schedule.

PD&MS completed the engineering, procurement and construction of all topsides modifications on the project.

Chief executive Simon Rio said: “PD&MS has now carried out a number of major brownfield modification projects with Apache.

“Callater involved the delivery of a combination of complex projects, including manifold replacements, fire and gas modifications, flowline and separator and produced water modifications, each with challenging deadlines which had to be met whilst simultaneously delivering other emergent fast-track modifications and projects.”

PD&MS secured the work in August 2015, displacing a larger contractor.
