Delivery charges in Highlands unfair

-

SIR, – Yet again we read in the paper about unfair delivery charges to the Highlands.

Why is it that many companies including the Royal Mail can charge a universal fee, yet some others see the Highlands as practically another planet?

In one of your recent weekend supplement magazines there was a lovely feature on alcoholic Christmas gifts. The marketing worked for me and I subsequently logged on to one of the featured websites to make a purchase. Of course, after spending some time browsing the website and choosing my gifts, I got to the checkout to be informed that on top of the standard delivery charge, there would be an extra £5 for delivery to Inverness. It seems a shame that this company was featured in a Highland magazine yet the readers will be forced to pay double for delivery.

Needless to say I did not make a purchase after all. Surely there’s a lesson in there somewhere for these companies.

Balloch, Inverness group is a step too far. His influence would undoubtedly lead to the SNP rhetoric being printed even more than it is now.

His appointment would be an offence to fair minded people. doing in Westminster? Seems they are rebels without a just cause. Pauline Eggermont, Drummond Place, Inverness
